Heaptalk, Jakarta — Association of All Indonesia District Government (Apkasi) has organized an Apkasi Otonomi Expo (AOE) on July 20th – 22nd, 2022, in Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan. As a part of its support for SMEs and women empowerment in Indonesia, Apkasi has collaborated with Uprintis Indonesia, a Women’s SMEs organization.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing marked this strategic cooperation. This agreement was signed by Deputy General Chairman and served as a Regent of the Trenggalek region, Mochamad Nur Arifin, and the Founder and CEO of Uprintis, Novita Hardini. This activity was also witnessed by Indonesia’s Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Bintang Puspayoga, and the National Retail Loan Head of OCBC, Mariam.
Materializing the aim of the collaboration, these two parties have initiated a talk show concerning business and women empowerment, namely Growth of SMEs empowerment that adopts A Role of Women in Increasing Regional Economic Potential as the theme.
Attending the AOE’s Talkshow, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Bintang Puspayoga, stated, “We appreciate the collaboration between Apkasi and Uprintis Indonesia to hold this Talkshow. Through the cooperation, we expect Indonesia can utilize the right opportunity to enhance the quality of resources through women empowerment to reach a better economy in Indonesia.”
The MSMEs sector has contributed 60% to the total GDP and absorbed 97% of the total workforce in the archipelago. In addition, this sector also increases national investment by 56% and escalates export activity by 14%. The outcome is estimated to be improved with the women’s contribution.
According to the McKinsey Global Institute Analysis report, Indonesia’s GDP is predicted to grow by $135 billion in 2025. This estimation certainly can be realized through the women’s great contribution. Also, the high productivity of the working environment is another driving factor for women to support Indonesia’s economic growth.
In response to this cooperation, the Founder and CEO of Uprintis Indonesia, Novita Hardini, affirmed that her party would accompany women-owned SMEs in Indonesia to strengthen market access, collaboration, and funding through the special programs owned by Uprintis for the Apkasi’s members. By the cooperation, she hopes to connect and invite the entire stakeholder to empower MSMEs in Indonesia.
Uprintis will provide four outstanding programs, spanning Public Speaking for Business Government, Digital Marketing for Business, Product Management for Business, Leadership, and Financial Management. By collaboration, Apkasi’s members can join the programs without any cost.
Likewise, National Retail Loan Head, Mariam, also revealed her support to grant solutions for Indonesia’s women SMEs. She uttered, “OCBC will grant the financial solutions and literacy to assist Indonesia’s women SMEs joined in the Apkasi and Uperintis. We expect to upgrade Indonesia’s MSMEs level by providing these solutions.”
