B Capital closes the Growth Fund III at USD2.1 billion

Growth Fund III is the latest B Capital‘s business achievement, which also recently declared the completion of the Ascent Fund II, the prime of early-stage funding for companies worth US$250 million.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — B Capital, a global multi-stage investment firm, has completed the third venture growth fund and related companion funds (Growth Fund III), with an aggregate capital worth US$2.1 billion, or approximately Rp31.8 trillion. This venture capital firm aims to handle this Growth Fund III to maximize investment activities for the business elevation of the United States and Asia companies.

The accomplishment of this Growth Fund III is the latest B Capital’s business achievement, which also recently declared the completion of the Ascent Fund II, the prime of early-stage funding for companies worth US$250 million, or nearly Rp3.7 trillion (USD1 equals Rp15,164). On the other hand, B Capital investment company also positions Indonesia as the essential country with the most expeditious digital economic growth in Asia.

Investment target of B Capital

Marking Indonesia as one of the essential markets, B Capital perceives the significant growth of the business-to-business (B2B) market in the archipelago, with a tremendous contribution of a 40% consumption level.

The enhancement of digital adoption and technology operation around the entire supply chain industry, including a warehouse, transaction management, and marketing, also become the other strategic reason for this venture capital firm. Simultaneously, B Capital realizes Indonesia’s founding team has a comprehensive insight related to the industry, supported by the rapid market penetration to transform the existing B2B or retail sectors.

Further, B2B e-commerce is one of the primary goals of this firm in Asia, specifically Indonesia. The company has demonstrated vigorously investing in multiple startups by leading and participating in the round funding activity.

During the completed investment record of the company, B Capital injected Kopi Kenangan worth US$109 million in a Series B round. Afterward, this venture capital also led a Series A round of US$20 million into B2B e-commerce startup Ula as of October 2021. Besides, B Capital also poured a Seed fund of US$2.8 million into the Finku platform in May 2022. Also, this firm injected a Series B round worth US$53 million into the financial technology startup Payfazz in July 2020.

In addition, this investment firm supported the Super investment activity in a Series C funding round worth US$70 million as of June 2022 and participated in the Pra-Series A round of the construction startup Brik worth US$12 million in December 2022.

Established in 2015, B Capital is led by Howard Morgan, Sheila Patel, Eduardo Saverin, and Raj Ganguly. By utilizing the company’s global business experience with the investor team and experienced platform advisor, B Capital has poured strategic investment into technology companies, ranging from seed to late-stage growth. The sectors cover enterprises, financial technology, and health technology.
