This expo will feature a unique format, including an exhibition of standout products, a relaxed talk session titled ‘UKM-IKM Go Global’, and an exclusive International Business Clinic (IBC) session that connects business owners directly with international trade experts. The UKM-IKM Trade Expo 2025 will be officially opened by the Minister of MSMEs and attended by key figures such as the Governor of Jakarta, the Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, and the Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries at the Ministry of Industry.
With the theme ‘UKM-IKM Penetrating the Global Market: Seizing Opportunities, Overcoming Export Challenges,’ this expo will showcase products and share inspiring stories from SME-SMI players who have ventured into export markets.
The Talk Show and Relaxed Discussion held during the expo will feature various speakers, including: Trade Attachés and Heads of ITPC from key export destinations such as Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Japan, and Australia; Indonesian diaspora entrepreneurs who have built overseas markets; global supply chain consultants; SME exporters who will share behind-the-scenes stories of their struggles.
Meanwhile, the International Business Clinic (IBC) will allow participants to engage in one-on-one sessions with international trade representatives and export practitioners to assess their readiness and strategies practically and personally.
Indonesia Diaspora SME Export Empowerment & Development (ID SEED), which actively connects Indonesian SMEs with global markets, also fully supports the event. “We, the Indonesian diaspora spread across various countries, strongly support this event. The UKM-IKM Trade Expo is a concrete initiative to connect the dreams of SMEs with the reality of the global market,” said Ira Damayanti, Chairperson of ID SEED.
Hartanto Indradi, Chairman of CFCD Jakarta, emphasized that a collaborative spirit is the key to export success. He said, “We want to prove that Indonesian SME-SMIs can thrive domestically and are ready to compete globally. Through cross-sector collaboration, we bring local products to the world stage.”
Moreover, Hartanto explained that the event was held due to the continuous growth of SMEs in Indonesia. “With over 65 million business units contributing 61.07% to GDP and absorbing 97% of the workforce, SMEs are the backbone of Indonesia’s economy. Government support through digitalization, access to capital, and business training has driven SME innovation and expansion into global markets. The UKM-IKM Trade Expo 2025 serves as a strategic platform to strengthen the role of SMEs in the national and international economy,” he concluded.
