Heaptalk, Jakarta — For three days, 3 kg of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) gas has been scarce, causing complaints from Indonesian citizens. In response, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia explained that the government is currently implementing restrictions on purchasing 3 kg of liquefied petroleum gas.
Minister Bahlil Lahadalia stated that these restrictions aim to reorganize the purchase of 3 kg liquefied petroleum gas to ensure its distribution is accurately targeted. Starting February 1, 2025, affordable liquefied petroleum gas for households can only be purchased from registered official bases at Pertamina.
“Purchasing 3 kg LPG gas at official bases is cheaper than buying from retailers,” said Heppy Wulansari, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga.
In addition to lower prices, buying from official bases ensures more accurate measurements. Heppy Wulansari also mentioned that retailers can become official bases after meeting the applicable requirements set by Pertamina.
Yuliot Tanjung, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, urged retailers to register officially and provided a one-month transition period. By March 2025, there will be no more 3 kg liquefied petroleum gas retailers.
