Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan officially closed the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2024 at the Indonesia Exhibition Center (ICE) in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD), Tangerang, Banten.
In his remarks, Zulkifli revealed that TEI 2024 had recorded transactions amounting to US$22.73 billion as of noon. This figure includes US$19.59 billion in goods and services transactions and US$3.04 billion in investment transactions, exceeding the target of US$15 billion.
“Thank God, the enthusiasm from exporters, buyers, and investors for this year’s TEI has been extraordinary. TEI provides significant benefits for exporters and buyers and continues to innovate yearly,” said Zulkifli.
The 39th TEI was attended by 1,460 business participants, 41,488 visitors from 140 countries, and 8,042 international buyers. The countries with the largest transactions during TEI 2024 were India, with US$7.46 billion (37.91% of the total), Vietnam, with US$3.67 billion (18.64%), the Netherlands, with US$2.76 billion (14.03%), the Philippines, with US$2.25 billion (11.46%), and Egypt, with US$623.40 million (3.17%).
The most in-demand products during this year’s TEI included coal with US$7.34 billion in transactions (37.29%), steel with US$2.72 billion (13.85%), palm oil and its derivatives with US$1.76 billion (8.94%), logistics services with US$1.66 billion (8.41%), and paper with US$1.05 billion (5.34%).
Zulkifli Hasan expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in the success of TEI 2024, including business actors, exporters, Indonesian ambassadors, consuls general, the WTO Ambassador, trade attachés, the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (KDEI) in Taiwan, long-standing and new buyers, local governments, Bank Mandiri, Pertamina, Privy, the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), and sponsors.
He also encouraged Indonesian businesses to continue producing high-quality products, developing value-added products, utilizing technology, and implementing sustainable business practices.
