Heaptalk, Jakarta — The International Franchise, License, and Business Concept Expo and Conference (IFRA) 2024 is held for three days at the Jakarta Convention Center in Senayan, Jakarta.

“We hope that the exhibition, which runs from August 16-18, 2024, will generate more than Rp1.5 trillion (approximately US$95.5 million with US$1 equals Rp15,701), and we also hope that IFRA 2024 will become a trusted platform and catalyst for the growth of the franchise industry in Indonesia,” said Daswar Marpaung, President Director of PT Dyandra Promosindo, during the opening of IFRA 2024 at JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (08/16).

IFRA serves as the main platform for business seekers. The event offers opportunities to explore innovative business concepts, establish collaborations with industry players, and expand business networks in both domestic and international markets. Daswar added, “This year, IFRA targets more than 58,000 visitors and features 70 innovative business programs involving 225 companies representing 325 brands.”

The Chairman of the Indonesian Franchise Association (AFI), Anang Sukandar, stated that the Indonesian government is encouraging MSMEs to dominate the market through ecosystems and digitalization. Anang stated, “We are pushing our MSMEs to become leading enterprises with the franchise business model. The government is also encouraging the creation of jobs. This exhibition showcases how the franchise model works. Secondly, we also want to promote the growth of local franchises in the domestic market. Indonesia has significant potential. During Covid, our domestic consumption was very large.”

Meanwhile, the Director General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order at the Ministry of Trade, Moga Simatupang, appreciated AFI’s consistent and sustainable efforts to contribute to national development, particularly in the franchise sector.

“I sincerely hope this collaboration between the government and the business community can continue. May this event serve as a good platform for promoting various business concepts and be the first step toward reviving the franchise business for a better future,” Moga concluded.
