Heaptalk, Jakarta — Zenius, an EduTech startup, has officially attained Primagama, an Indonesian pioneering tutoring center, to join its education ecosystem. Through this joining, Zenius intends to enhance its commitment to creating a new level of education in Indonesia through hybrid learning, while also including all Primagama branches in Indonesia and making them available to be accessed via Zenius.

Zenius also plan to broaden Primagama’s network through various relevant technologies and innovations in order to provide students with the best learning experience possible. Furthermore, Zenius will improve the quality of Primagama teachers, curriculum, and facilities, allowing for further network expansion.

Primagama itself known owns and runs more than 300 locations in various provinces in Indonesia, serving a total of 4 million students with its teacher reach of over 3,000 personnel. Zenius, on the other hand, has more than 20 million users.

“The merger of Primagama and Zenius represents a collaboration of two education experts who will create the best innovations in the future to advance the quality of Indonesian education,” said Sony Radhityo, Chief Product and Growth Officer of Zenius.

“With a wide range of offline tutoring, Primagama will strengthen the Zenius learning ecosystem, allowing technology to have a greater impact in education.” With a 40-year presence in Indonesia, Primagama will share their experience and expertise in managing offline tutoring, as well as provide a strong teaching base throughout the country “Tuesday (22/2), Sony issued an official statement.

Sony also stated that Zenius will develop a hybrid learning model (online-merge-offline/OMO) that will become an effective learning model in the future. With this learning model, students will interact directly with teachers (offline) and have access to unlimited online learning anywhere, at any time.

“In the future, the hybrid learning model will be one of the most effective methods for Indonesian education. Students’ and teachers’ adaptation to online learning during the pandemic will make it easier for them to engage in hybrid learning activities, ” he continued.

Primagama had previously launched an online learning service called PrimagamaPlus in early 2010. However, because the market did not support it and because offline learning was still king at the time, the PrimagamaPlus service failed to gain public attention.

Unlike now, Zenius’ corporate action occurred in the midst of the pandemic’s devastation of many offline tutoring businesses. The introduction of the school-from-home program today has resulted in a decrease in demand for offline tutoring, particularly as EduTech services gain popularity.

Education ecosystem all-in-one solution

Zenius is regarded as one of Indonesia’s pioneering startups for online tutoring services. Before going online, Zenius began with offline tutoring and DVD-packaged materials.

They currently offer a number of products, the most popular of which is their online tutoring service. During the 2019–2020 school year, more than 20 million people used the Zenius tutoring app. There are approximately 100,000 free learning videos and practice questions available.

Zenius also offers Live Class services for one-on-one instruction with selected teachers, as well as a written national exam simulation and a variety of other learning products. Aside from formal education, the company offers the ZeniusLand app for toddlers, ZenPro for professional learning with more general subjects, and the ZenRu teaching management platform.
