Heaptalk, Jakarta – Cyber Exhibition 2021 – the event initiated by the Army Crypto and Cyber Center (Pussansiad) – was held on Wednesday, 24 November 2011. The presence of the occasion aimed to increase people’s literacy towards cyber security as well as to build a great, sustainable synergy between the Indonesian Military (TNI) and society, particularly millennials.
The acceleration of digital penetration in Indonesia is always followed by the threat of cyber-attacks. Throughout 2021, the Army Crypto and Cyber Agency (BSSN) recorded that the country was hit 800 by million cyber-threat, which means 42 threats have stricken for every second.
As the archipelago experienced a high risk of cyber threat, literacy towards the issue becomes critical. Responding to the issue, Pussansiad held an exhibition to spread information towards the importance of cyber-security through Cyber Exhibition Pussansiad 2021. The exhibition also can deliver knowledge and a positive perspective towards cyber, and tailor it with the introduction of military technology, which now is based on IT, nanotechnology, and automation.
The Commander of Pussansiad, Brigadier Gen. Iroth Sonny Edhi, in his speech, stated that the vulnerability in our cyber security is a threat to national security. Regarding this issue, the Army continues to uphold Indonesia’s cyber sovereignty. Yet, Edhi perceived, to achieve it, the great collaboration between society and the Army is needed.
The event adopted a hybrid concept by combining online streaming and on-site events. The virtual occasion was aired through Pussansiad’s Youtube channel, while the live event was taken place in Santika Premiere Hotel, Jakarta. Due to the constraint of the covid-19 pandemic, the number of participants in the live event was set to be limited.
During the event, several activities were carried out, spanning talk show, visiting booth, standup comedy from Rio Dumatubun, sharing knowledge with the representative of TNI’s Cyber Community Competency (KKS), and demo of the latest technology in cyber security.
In the talk show, the event employed “The Role of TNI and Society to Tackle Cyber Threat for Indonesia’s Cyber Sovereignty “ as the topic. High-legitimate keynote speakers were invited namely Brig. Gen. TNI Bondan Widiawan represented the practitioner’s point of view, Ian Yosef Matheus Edwards for reflecting scholar’s idea, and Linuz Tri Ertanto as the representative of the cyber community.
In addition of the talk show, the exhibition also put sharing knowledge session in its agenda to disseminate knowledge and strategy when following Amy’s Cyber Community Competency 2021 on last September. The event was closed by gathering cyber industry actors to demonstrate their latest technology and cyber security.
