Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia-based health tech startup Klinik Pintar closed its oversubscribed Series A1 funding round at US$5 million (around Rp78 billion) led by Singapore’s investment firm Altara Ventures.

On the other hand, the healthcare IT company Infocom and existing investors, including Golden Gate Ventures, Skystar Capital, and Venturra, are involved in this funding. This fresh injection will be allocated to extend its business network, provide more comprehensive health services and products, and penetrate the B2B market.

“We were amazed by the startup’s unique blend of providing high-quality healthcare without compromise combined with proven, state-of-the-art practice management software.” The General Partner of Altara Ventures, Gavin Teo, admitted.

Established in 2018, KlinikPintar develops healthcare solutions to assist Indonesian clinic owners in transforming their businesses digitally. The company possessed its three primary health services and products, spanning vaccination services and consultations with doctors (patients), a virtual clinic for employees (corporations), and integrated software into multiple government healthcare platforms (clinics).

“We will also continue developing our clinic system, known as Aplikasi Klinik Pintar (AKP), with more premium features and integration with multiple supporting partners,” Co-Founder and CEO of Klinik Pintar, Bimo Harya, said as cited in DealstreetAsia.

Klinik Pintar’s AKP platform is linked to the Ministry of Health apps, SatuSehat, Indonesia’s health insurance BPJS, and private insurance. This software also procures clinical inventory systems, medicines, consumables, and medical equipment at group purchasing prices.

In its operations, Klinik Pintar has operated around 23 clinics in Greater Jakarta and contained more than 1,500 clinic partners spread in 280 cities in the archipelago per December 2023. As a result, around 5% of Indonesia’s clinics have utilized its technological services. The startup plans to increase to 51 clinics next year and attain 100 managed clinics by 2025.

Participating in this investment, the Executive Officer of Infocom Corporation, Yoichiro Hamzaki, revealed that Klinik Pintar software allows local clinics to manage their operations. Through this collaboration, he believes that the software integration support of clinical medicines decisions into the Klinik Pintar platform will benefit society.
