Heaptalk, Jakarta — Adobe revealed the updated generative AI models that powered its image generator Firefly at the creativity conference Adobe MAX 2023 (10/10). Consisting of Vector, Design, and Image 2, the latest AI models generate content that can be leveraged for commercial use.
Firefly Vector is a generative AI model focused on producing vector graphics. This model brings vector graphics and generative AI tools into Adobe Illustrator workflows through Text to Vector Graphic used to create logos, website graphics, product packaging, and icons.
Firefly Design instantly produces template designs, spanning flyers, posters, and invitations directly within Adobe Express through the Text to Template feature. Meanwhile, Firefly Image 2 is a next-generation imaging model that brings users to a new level of creative control and quality. This model produces higher-quality imagery, displays humans more accurately, and improves text alignment to provide better outcomes for creators.
“Since the release of our first Firefly image model in March, we’ve been taken aback by the amazing response from the community, who has demonstrated how useful Firefly is to enhancing experimentation and design and speeding up workflows, without compromising creative control,” said President of Digital Media Business at Adobe David Wadhwani as quoted from the company’s official page.
Embedded with Content Credentials
Firefly is Adobe’s AI image generator which was launched in March 2023. Images produced by this tool are embedded with Content Credentials as a source of information related to image creation, including the creator’s name, date, edits made, and tools used.
Wadhwani further explained that with over 3 billion image generations to date, including more than a billion in the last month alone, the early adoption of Firefly demonstrates the unique power of bringing foundation models into the workflows customers know and love.
In addition to Illustrator and Express, Firefly can be found in Adobe Photoshop on the web via the Generative Fill and Generative Expand features that can be accessed on Google Chromebook Plus devices. The company also released new AI-powered Text-Based Editing and motion improvements in Premiere Pro and After Effects, seamless publishing of video content to TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook from Express and Premiere Pro, as well as other innovations across Creative Cloud apps.
