Following the growth of the domestic market, ICS Compute targets foreign markets by opening offices in Singapore, Japan, and Thailand.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia-based cloud consulting and cloud system integration firm ICS Compute recorded a significant growth of business revenue of 378% since signing a strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in April 2022.

In the same period, ICS Compute’s consulting business line contributed by AWS services, including professional and managed services, rose 174%. According to ICS Compute founder Budhi Wibawa, this collaboration enables his party to explore multiple opportunities in the market and encourage each other’s business growth.

Market intelligence firm International Data Corporation (IDC) projected that the cloud market in Indonesia will exceed US$1.3 billion in 2025, with an annual growth rate of 28% during 2020-2025. To meet growing customer demand for cloud services in Indonesia, ICS Compute is collaborating with AWS to build advanced cloud services using AI, machine learning, data analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Several products developed by ICS Compute with AWS support include Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) using Amazon Textract, Amazon Comprehend, and basic machine learning models.

“Companies in Indonesia are adopting the latest AWS technologies to accelerate digital transformation and improve their customer experience. These companies are switching to ICS Compute not only to adopt world-class cloud infrastructure such as from AWS Jakarta Region but also to deploy advanced cloud capabilities, including AI,” explained Budhi during a media briefing at AWS Cloud Day Indonesia 2023 in Jakarta (09/26).

Expansion to Singapore, Japan, and Thailand

Following the growth of the domestic market, ICS Compute is now targeting foreign markets by opening offices in Singapore and Japan. The firm focuses on developing artificial intelligence technology in Japan to then bring it to Indonesia. Further, ICS Compute targets opening a branch office in Thailand by the end of 2023.

Budhi further conveyed, “Our collaboration with AWS has helped us meet this demand by enhancing the digital skills of our workforce, developing new cloud solutions that build customer trust, and increasing ICS Compute’s growth through the expansion of our offices in Singapore and Japan, as well as a new office which will open soon in Thailand.”

Founded in 2017, the firm has helped more than 350 customers adopt AWS cloud technology. One-third of these customers are companies in the financial services, retail, and media industries. MNC Portal Indonesia is one of the media companies that implement geolocation services using Amazon Location Service via ICS Compute.

Amazon Location Service is claimed to be able to increase precision in determining a viewer’s place of origin by up to eight decimals. This way, companies can better understand current customer trends and tailor increasingly personalized media program choices.

According to Partner Sales Leader ASEAN at AWS Kirsten Gilbertson, partners including ICS Compute are drivers for customers and the local economy. “We will continue to support ICS Compute and our partner community in Indonesia as we enhance our capabilities and leverage AI to help customers take advantage of the scalability, agility, and security of the cloud,” concluded Kirsten.
