Heaptalk, Jakarta – Swiss-Belhotel Jakarta, Tangerang and Yogyakarta present innovation to celebrate the National Independence Day on August 17 by presenting Rasa Nusantara (translated: Taste of the Archipelago) at Swiss-Belhotel Pondok Indah, Jakarta.
General Manager of Swiss-Belhotel Pondok Indah, Dedik Abdillah stated, “In commemoration of the National Independence Day, we want to make Indonesian authentic food to have global competitiveness, this is the reason why we would like to showcase the food in our restaurant.”
Dedik further explained that based on the hotel’s guest profile, Swiss-Belhotel also managed to attract foreign people from Japan, Korea, China, South East Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Perceiving this data, Dedik intends to introduce Indonesian food to the guest and make them fond of traditional cuisine.
“My desire, I would like to see them (the guests) enjoying not only Western food but there is also Indonesian food on their (the foreign guest) table. And this is, also a challenge for our chef and the team to attract guests to taste our traditional food, and bring good experience which leads them to fall in love with local food.”
Dedik delivered that this activity was the initiation of Chef Reuben Win (Swiss-Belhotel Pondok Indah), Chef Troy Donovan (Swiss-Belhotel Airport, Jakarta), and Chef Luxyana (Swiss-Belboutique Yogyakarta) to promote Indonesian specialties F&B.
In this season, the hotel presents several authentic Indonesian menus, including Tinoransak from Manado, Brongkos Wagyu from Yogyakarta, Woku Belanga from Minahasa, Savory Malay Shrimp from Riau, and more.
The series of events also started with press conferences on Thursday and Friday afternoons, followed by cooking demonstrations from the chefs. The event itself was closed with an all-you-can-eat dinner which was made under the title Cultural Dinner Buffet. Moreover, guests also received recipes from the demoed menu, merchandise and door prizes in the form of all-you-can-eat vouchers, hotel vouchers, and kitchen equipment.
