The neighborhood fund program must be allocated for two components, namely Rp40 million for infrastructure development and Rp10 million for increasing human resource capacity.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — East Kutai Village and Community Empowerment Department (DPMDes) is responsible for the disbursement of the Rp50 million aid, approximately US$3,352 (US$1 equals Rp14,915) for each neighborhood unit in the Regency. There will be 1,607 neighborhood units in 18 districts throughout East Kutai that are entitled to receive the fund.
In its implementation, the fund must be allocated for two components, namely Rp40 million for infrastructure development and Rp10 million for increasing human resource capacity. Head of the East Kutai DPMDes Yuriansyah affirmed that the distribution of this assistance can target residents who need it, specifically for the allocation of human resource capacity building.
“Please prioritize residents who are underprivileged and have never attended training,” said Yuriansyah. This mandate is in accordance with the program’s objectives to help accelerate equitable development in all areas of East Kutai. The Regency Government started this program in 2022.
He further explained, “This program is expected to not only develop infrastructure but also reduce our poverty rate which is still high in East Kutai, one of which is through capacity building to grow skills that can provide opportunities to improve the economy.”
This program requires coordination with the village head who is responsible for managing funds to achieve the targeted results. The implementation begins with a program proposal from each neighborhood unit that is submitted to the village head.
“If they already have certain skills, it will definitely have an impact on improving the economy of the community members themselves,” Yuriansyah concluded.
