FGD and socialization of population administration and civil registration attended by 30 representatives aimed at increasing understanding and quality of service in East Kutai.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Population and Civil Registration Department (Disdukcapil) conducted a focus group discussion (FGD) and socialization of population administration (Adminduk) and civil registration service standards at the D’lounge Room Hotel Royal Victoria, North Sangatta (06/13).

This activity was attended by 30 participants consisting of representatives from regional apparatus organizations within the Government of East Kutai Regency. Representing the East Kutai Regent, Assistant for Governance and People’s Welfare (Pemkesra) Poniso Suryo Renggono in his opening remarks conveyed that the activity aims to improve understanding and quality of service in the field of population administration for the parties involved.

According to Suryo, service standards are instruments that are used as guidelines for implementation and references for evaluating service quality as well as promises and commitments from the institution to service recipients, namely the public.

“The commitment is in the form of improving the quality of service that is easy, fast, and has certainty,” said Poniso. This is in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 25 of 2009 on Public Services which explains that every public service provider is required to compile, establish, and apply service standards for each type of service as a benchmark in the delivery of services in their respective environments.

Therefore, Poniso hopes that all parties participating in this activity can provide input and suggestions in preparing service standards and improving the quality of population administration and civil registration services in East Kutai.

In addition, he also appealed to the process of preparing service standards to be in accordance with existing regulations, including Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Regulation No. 15 of 2014 on Service Standard Guidelines.

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Kutai Population and Civil Registration Department Jumeah said that setting clear service standards is necessary to embody good service performance for the community, in addition to the involvement and assistance of all related parties.

“The objective of preparing these service standards is to build easy and transparent service procedures and mechanisms, improve quality service facilities and infrastructure, build community participation in the field of population and civil registration, and at the same time simplify people to manage their population documents,” concluded Jumeah.
