Indonesia Digital Financial Economy Festival (FEKDI) is opened by the President of Indonesia, Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo and is held for 7-10 May 2022.
Heaptalk, Jakarta – Indonesia Digital Financial Economy Festival (FEKDI) 2023 officially opens today to promote the national digital financial and economy to be more inclusive and efficient (05/08).
The event, which adopts “Synergy and Innovation of Digital Economy: Fostering Growth” as the theme, was initiated by the Coordinating Ministry of Economy and Bank Indonesia (BI) with the support of related ministries, agencies, associations, and industry players. Organized from 7-10 May 2022 at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), FEKDI is expected to synergize policy and showcase various products and innovations, policy implementation, and achievement of the development of the digital economy ecosystem.
Indonesia’s President, Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, during the soft opening of FEKDI stated, “Indonesia’s digital economy can be optimized to be the new source of economic development. The market capital of this sector is tremendous, reaching 40% of total digital economic transactions in ASEAN”. Jokowi also delivered that the key point to flourishing digital ecosystem is innovation in terms of the development of the digital-based-payment system, as well as society’s safety and protection.
Coordinating Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartarto, in his opening remarks, conveyed, “We have to remember that 10 years to 13 years ahead is the essential moment for Indonesia as the demography bonus will happen only until 2038. I hope FEKDI can be a moment to drive synergy and innovation together toward Indonesia’s digital economy financial.
During the soft ceremony of FEKDI, a domestic credit card for Indonesia’s government also was launched, named Kartu Kredit Indonesia (KKI). This card is a credit-based payment instrument with the domestic process to facilitate Government’s expenditure.
In addition to the launch of KKI, the first implementation of cross-border QRIS between Indonesia and Malaysia was held during FEKDI.
