Enormous potential for the Indonesian gaming industry
Nuon Digital Indonesia CEO Aris Sudewo expressed his optimism that local games will be able to compete at the worldwide level. “With innovative gameplay, attractive visual design, strong community support, and effective marketing strategies, the Paw Rumble game proves that Indonesia has enormous potential for developing the gaming industry,” explained Aris (03/04).
Paw Rumble is developed by Grinsmile, a local game startup from Surabaya, East Java. Grinsmile is an alumnus of Telkom‘s Indigo Game Startup Incubator (IGSI), the first game incubator in Indonesia that accommodates game startups with mentoring, investment, and publishing. Paw Rumble through Grinsmile, joined the first batch of IGSI to enter the Top 30 Indie Games Baparekraf (Tourism and Creative Economy Agency) Game Prime 2020 Online.
Further, by promoting local games, Nuon believes that the country’s gaming ecosystem will also develop and have a positive impact on the creative economy as a whole. Paw Rumble’s achievement is expected to be an encouragement for other game developers to constantly innovate and produce quality works that can be recognized globally. “We are committed to innovating and continuing to look for domestic talent to compete among games made abroad,” concluded Aris.
