Among all the payment methods provided by Xendit, Astro’s consumers prefer to pay through a virtual account since it is fast, easy, and safe.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — A digital payment provider Xendit has tied a partnership with Indonesia’s commerce startup Astro by providing more than 10 payment methods, spanning e-wallet, QRIS, credit card, and virtual debit.
Founded in 2021, Astro becomes the first quick commerce company in Indonesia that delivers groceries and essentials to consumers within minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. After 1.5 years of partnering with Xendit, Astro has found that the most popular payment method is through bank transfer with a virtual account.
Chief Financial Officer of Astro Marcella M. Moniaga said, “As one of the quick commerce pioneers, we are required to think creatively in providing the best service for customers. We want to make sure they can transact quickly, easily, and safely, particularly since the majority of Astro users have high mobility.”
Further, for this reason, Astro needs a payment gateway that can enable transactions to run smoothly and minimize the risk of fraud, such as the one developed by Xendit. In addition, Xendit also assists Astro with refunds and on-demand payouts.
According to Marcella, the Xendit platform offers easy integration with various payment channels, 24/7 customer service, and dashboards that can conveniently analyze transactions and performance.
“As a startup, we need to improve business efficiency, so entrusting payment systems to experts, such as Xendit, will help save time, effort, and costs. Thus, we can focus on building core business performance,” added Marcella.
Meanwhile, COO and co-founder of Xendit Tessa Wijaya delivered, “Xendit strives to help MSMEs and startups, including Astro, to develop with the best digital payment infrastructure.” By building a digital payments infrastructure in Southeast Asia, Tessa believed that the company is driving digital transformation in the region by addressing access, reliability, and regulatory needs to enable more businesses to thrive and grow.
Going forward, Tessa said that his party would continue to expand its business to other sectors to be able to help more business people, such as Astro, in serving customers optimally. Currently, the Xendit platform has been used by business people, including MSMEs, startups, e-commerce, and large companies in Indonesia, the Philippines, and other countries in Southeast Asia.
