Heaptalk, Jakarta — A female wellness startup, Yoona, has bagged fresh capital in a Seed funding round for an undisclosed amount. This startup will tackle the fund to strengthen its position in Indonesia’s women’s health industry. The team will also empower women with comprehensive knowledge and support from investors to shape the women’s health landscape in this market.

CyberAgent, the strategic investor of multiple technology companies, such as Tokopedia, Coda Payment, and KakaoTalk, led Yoona’s seed funding round. On the other hand, numerous investors of diverse companies back this funding, including Sayurbox’s Founders Amanda Cole and Metha Trisnawati, Ardi Setiadharma from Prasetia Dwidharma company, MD Capital, and a consortium of founders.

In response to this funding, the CEO of Yoon, Sussana Angraini, said, “The new seed round is a testament to our dedication to revolutionizing the female wellness landscape and empowering women across Indonesia to embrace their health and well-being with confidence,”

Founded during the pandemic, Yoona’s startup quickly became the go-to source for period care and female wellness information. Targeting a direct-to-consumer (D2C) sector, the startup has performed bold steps to aggressively expand its brick-and-mortar distribution scheme through strategic cooperation with leading retailers in the archipelago.

Hitherto, Yoona’s product has been traded in several online marketplace platforms and physical retail outlets, such as Sociolla. Applying the subscription method, customers can choose a subscription scheme on its official website, which is expected to adjust the existing demand.

Carrying the concept of female wellness in Indonesia, this startup uses Negative Ion Anion Strip technology as an antibacterial that helps the feminine area. In providing its products, Yoona Sanitary Pads uses 100% organic cotton from Germany and Japan, facilitating the decomposition process in 6-12 months, which is expected to contribute to environmental sustainability.

To provide a quality sanitary napkin for Indonesian women customers, this startup has received various certifications in the field of health and sustainability, such as AKL distribution permits from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Halal Certification from New York, FDA Approved and Organic Certification from ECOCERT.
