Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) showcases a complete lineup of electrified vehicles, including the All-New Prius HEV and the All-New Prius PHEV, alongside the Toyota FT-3e Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) concept car.

According to Toyota-Astra Motor President Director Hiroyuki Ueda, this measure demonstrates Toyota’s technological expansion by presenting comprehensive and sustainable carbon-neutral technology. The presence of its products is also intended to provide broader mobility solutions for customers.

Aligned with Indonesia’s Energy Roadmap towards net zero emissions by 2060, Toyota is also showcasing the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV Flexy Fuel Concept and the Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) powered by pure hydrogen, which has the potential to expand support for increasing the use of renewable energy.

Toyota also announced its participation in the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics in Paris. This automotive brand will provide sustainable mobility solutions to ensure athletes and guests at the international sports event can move freely with low emissions.

Since 2009, TAM has launched over 27 Toyota and Lexus electrified vehicles (xEV) models, including Hybrid EVs, Plug-in  Hybrid EVs, and Battery EVs. In 2023, the Indonesian xEV market reached 71,500 units wholesale, with Hybrid EVs accounting for 76% and Battery EVs contributing 24%.

“In the first half of 2024, Toyota continued to lead electrified vehicle sales with 15,017 units wholesales, capturing 40% of the national electrification market, with HEV models as the most significant contributors. This positive news is even more gratifying as the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV and Yaris Cross HEV produced by Toyota in Indonesia won the car of the year title from national automotive media in 2023 and 2024,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, Toyota Astra Motor Vice President Henry Tanoto expressed gratitude for the positive response from Toyota Hybrid users who appreciate the fuel efficiency, satisfying driving experience, advanced safety and comfort features, and resale value that offers peace of mind. TAM is again expanding Toyota’s electrified vehicle options by launching the All-New Prius HEV and plans to add more electrified models as eco-friendly vehicle options.

“This includes the commitment to expand the lineup of Plug-In Hybrid EVs as models that can combine the reliability of Battery EVs and Hybrid EVs, resulting in high flexibility in mobility,” he concluded.
