Heaptalk, Jakarta — Nvidia and Giant telecommunication company Indosat Ooredoo are in collaborative talks to construct an artificial intelligence (AI) center worth US$200 million, approximately Rp3 billion. The construction of this AI Center is part of Nvidia’s follow-up to Indonesia’s long-term commitment through a five-year collaboration.
The announcement was directly confirmed by Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Informatics, Budi Arie Setiadi. Based on his statement, the investment will be conducted in the science area, Solo Technopark, located in Ki Hajar Dewantara Street, No 19 Jebres, Surakarta.

“We commit Nvidia and Indosat to invest Rp3 trillion to build Indonesia’s AI Nation in Solo. This area will be named the national AI center, Indonesia’s AI Nation. They determined to construct this AI center in Solo as the area has talented human resources and is covered by the 5G network,” Budi explained.
Furthermore, Indonesia’s AI Nation concept will focus on infrastructure development, including the creation of quality human resources. As is known, Indosat’s Ooredoo CEO, Vikram Sinha, has delivered the company’s strategic investment plan to Solo’s Mayor, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“The investment value for this development is quite high. But we have to wait until a final decision,” Gibran responds.
Prior to confirming this further cooperation form to boost AI adoption in Indonesia, Indonesia Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) Group, through its subsidiary Lintasarta, also collaborated with Nvidia to adopt its full stack of artificial intelligence (AI). With Nvidia’s AI capabilities, Indosat aims to increase productivity and reduce operational costs across industries.
In this partnership, Nvidia will provide access to the latest graphics card (GPU) technology with data centers connected to public internet speeds of up to 400 Gbps. With the support of Nvidia technology, IOH, and Lintasarta’s AI cloud services will develop a new generation of sustainable, hyper-connected, and artificial intelligence-equipped data centers.
Meanwhile, Lintasarta GPU-as-a-service will provide access to AI/machine learning designed for heavy computing work, including bare metal infrastructure, platforms, and services. This capability will ensure reliable cloud supercomputing services and leverage AI to create innovation for users.
As part of the company’s effort to boost Indonesian digital talents, Nvidia is also claimed to have assisted more than 20,000 Indonesian students in their education to enhance their skills in AI technology in 2022 – 2023.
