Heaptalk, Jakarta — HR automation platform Omni HR has closed its new capital worth USD2.4 million in oversubscribed pre-seed funding round. The company will enhance its all-in-one product offering, including recruitment and performance management modules, and expand its market reach to Indonesia and Singapore through this latest injection.
Alpha JWC Ventures and Picus Capital led this round, with participation from other investors, including FEBE Ventures, Basis Set Ventures, Ratio Ventures, and Frances Kang (Horizon Ventures). In addition, former executives from Namely and Ultimate Software also participated the round as the angel investors.
According to Co-Founder of Omni HR, Brian Ip, most SEA companies currently use local HR software that only supports primary admin functions, leaving the HR process manually. He also explained that HR software is one of the software categories that require localization as the diverse countries implement different employment policies. Perceiving this issue, Brian affirmed that the local player could utilize this opportunity to establish a modern and scaleable management platform based in Southeast Asia.
Established in 2021, Omni HR was founded by a former Goldman Sachs executive, Brian Ip, and experienced data engineer, YC Chan. They intend to provide a seamless employee management system that supports companies in digitizing and automating the end-to-end employee lifecycle through a single platform. Since its soft launch in March 2022, this digital HR platform has been adopted by several companies to automate manual HR processes, covering employee onboarding and document management.
Omni HR’ Co-Founder, YC Chan, stated, “We are off to a great start as our initial traction has been promising. We are better than incumbents not only because of our superior tech solutions but also because of our understanding of the local context that enables us to design a suitable product with the customer requisites,”
Following the round, the Partner and Managing Director of Picus Capital, Florian Reichert, stated, “We believe the Southeast Asian market is still a white space without comprehensive and localized tools to manage a workforce efficiently and offer a strong employee experience. Omni HR has built superior solutions by going beyond basic administrative functionally into automating repetitive workflows, including onboarding in the HR department. ”
Realizing the HR software transformation, the team plans to digitize employee records, automate administrative tasks, and interact with employee data seamlessly over the diverse systems. Through the ongoing digital transformation and the software adoption trends in Southeast Asia, the company is confident in providing its employee management product for this region.
“Omni is building an end-to-end HR suite that covers the entire employee life cycle and automates the repetitive workflow to help the management handle their people operations. With solutions that cater to problems faced by most, if not all, kinds of companies, we believe Omni HR has the unique potential to grow fast and become the region’s HR SaaS of choice,” Co-Founder and General Partner of Alpha JWC Ventures, Jefrey Joe, said.
