To date, Mindtera has employed 10,000 people while fostering an increase of 94% in employee well-being awareness.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — An employee assistance program platform based in Indonesia, Mindtera, seized an US$850,000 combined seed and seed extension funding round led by East Ventures. This funding is also backed by a commitment from Seedstarts International Ventures among other prominent angel investors.
Mindtera plans to use the fresh funds to expand the scope of its B2B operations. The startup aims to serve more clients and develop products to become the leading employee assistance program platform in Indonesia.
Co-founder and CEO of Mindtera Tita Ardiati delivered that investing in human capital is tricky. “The benefits are not immediately visible, but the company will see a sustained impact if you build a balanced and healthy working environment. Human resources are a valuable asset for a company’s growth. Happy people inspire growth, so look after your people, and you will see productivity,” said Tita.
Founded in 2021 by Tita Ardiati and Bayu Puspito Bhaskoro, Mindtera develops a platform based on data-driven insights to build a productive and happy workplace. The company manages employee development, engagement, and well-being, as well as following employees from the hiring process to their retirement.
The mental well-being of employees plays a key role in affecting the business, primarily during the great resignation in 2021, based on a study from the global company McKinsey. The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that in addition to impacting relationships and societies, mental health issues including depression and anxiety also cost the global economy US$1 trillion annually, mainly from reduced productivity.
Over the past year, Mindtera released two platforms to address the issues, namely Mindtera Pro and Mindtera Plus. Mindtera Pro is an analytics dashboard and app equipped with an advanced suite of assessment tools to collect and analyze employee feedback. Meanwhile, Mindtera Plus provides access to coaching and development consultants to help address challenges that may arise in employee management culture.
Creating a holistic employee welfare platform
Partner at East Ventures Melisa Irene said, “We believe the future of work is the employee’s well-being. Nurturing the mental health and well-being of the employee is crucial for developing a resilient business and workplace.”
Thus, Melisa believes that Mindtera serves as the proper platform to create holistic employee well-being by providing data-driven and targeted answers to address different companies’ circumstances and needs. She expressed her excitement to experience the growth and empowerment created by Mindtera in this space.
Meanwhile, General Partner at Seedstars International Ventures Patricia Sosrodjojo shared “The world has seen a major shift in the understanding of how integral mental health and well-being are for businesses, but there is still much work to be done to effectively address this.”
According to her, Mindtera is at the forefront of foundational changes in the workplace and has been able to rapidly expand its reach in Indonesia’s HR space. “We are excited to see what they can further create in this space and help build out a better work culture for companies while increasing productivity and employee engagement,” said Patricia.
To date, Mindtera has employed 10,000 people while fostering an increase of 94% in employee well-being awareness. The startup is expected to lead the charge in optimizing work culture across Indonesia by providing HR optimization for key industry players.
This startup also earned several awards for its platform. Recently, Mindtera was recognized by Google Play as Best App for Positive Impact 2022 and Best Local App 2022. This success capped off a year of notable achievements including being selected to represent Indonesia at Google Startups Southeast Asia 2023, guests as a representative for East Ventures portfolio companies at the Tech In Asia Conference 2022 in Singapore and the G20 Ministry of Communication & Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Digital HUB.ID Summit 2021.
