A new Meta Verified subscription feature will be priced at US$11.99 for the web and US$ 14.99 for Apple’s iOS and Android systems per month.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Meta Platform has announced a monthly subscription service establishment, namely the Meta Verified feature. This newest feature enables users to verify their accounts using the government ID and obtain a blue badge facility. Through the launch of this subscription service, this multinational technology company expects to bolster content creators’ validity and create communities.
Following Twitter Blue feature, the launch of the Meta Verified subscription feature might contribute to users performing a monetization of this platform. After completing the verification process, users cannot change their profile name, username, date of birth, and profile picture without reverifying their accounts.
However, the registered users would receive exclusive stickers for uploading their content through the Stories and Reels features. On the other hand, customers will also acquire points for 100 free stars per month or digital currency to grant appreciation to the content creators on Facebook.
“Good morning! New product announcement: We have established Meta Verified —a subscription service to enable you to verify accounts with a government ID and gain a blue badge. This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services,” Zuckerberg said through his Instagram channel. (02/19).
This feature was first encountered by an application developer on Twitter, Alessandro Paluzzi. He claimed Instagram is conducting a subscription package in the platform, which eventually could be realized.
As cited in Reuters (02/20), a subscription bundle for Instagram and Facebook will be launched by the end of this week, providing extra protection against impersonation cases. This subscription feature will be priced from US$11.99, or approximately Rp181,840 per month, through the web. Meanwhile, for Apple’s iOS and Android systems, this subscription service will be priced at US$14.99, or equal to Rp227,338 per month.
To register as Meta Verified, users must be 18 years old as the minimum age and submit a government ID that matches their name and photo on Facebook or Instagram.
