“We (Indosat) are starting (IoT Connect) from Java, from Jakarta, where a lot of manufacturing is here. But once we have understood how to implement it here, we will go to the other places”

Heaptalk, Jakarta –
A giant ICT company, Indosat, rolls out its latest innovation in Indonesia, IoT Connect, to assist businesses in creating more effective and efficient workflow at more affordable prices.

In more detail, IoT Connect provides a cloud-based control manager that enables companies to track and manage their networked devices, tracking tools, and online product and measure data bandwidth consumption to deliver secure, reliable connected services at a lower cost.

Introducing IoT business in the archipelago, Senior Vice President IOT Industry Indosat Business, Deepak Pande stated that the Company has cooperated with various global companies, such as Google, Tech Mahindra, Cisco, etc., to strengthen this business (02/15). Moreover, Pande also conveyed that the Company opens opportunities to local partners in building collaboration.

“So that is the reason why we are attending events like this. We are talking to a lot of local people as well and seeing if there are local applications or local products that we can sort of bring onto our marketplace,” stated Pande during Manufacturing IT Summit 2023 in Jakarta (02/15).

Perceiving challenges in running this new business, Pande delivered, “We don’t see any challenges so far as we just started. Indonesia has a great market. We have seen a lot of statistics today about how Indonesia’s initiatives are growing and everything else. So, I think it is just a question. It is an evolving market. So, it is just a question of going forward and executing in this market.”

As the initial phase, Indosat chose Java – specifically Jakarta – as its first target region considering the number of manufacturing industries on the island. Pande also delivered the Company potentially expands its IoT business to other regions in the next stage.

“We are starting from Java, from Jakarta, where a lot of manufacturing is here. But I think, once we have understood how to implement it here, then we will go to the next step and the other places,” said Pande in his closing statement.
