Alibaba AI Tongyi Qianwen contains Chinese and English language capabilities that will be integrated into the whole Alibaba’s business platform shortly.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — A China-based giant technology company, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., through its subsidiary Alibaba Cloud has released Tongyi Qianwen, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model similar to ChatGPT. Possessing Chinese and English language capabilities, this giant company plans to integrate this technology into the overall business application of the company shortly.
For its initial plan, Tongyi Qianwen will be integrated into Alibaba’s workplace messaging application, DingTalk. Users are accessible to summarize the meeting notes, write an email, and arrange business proposals. On the other hand, Alibaba’s team plan to augment this ChatGPT rival with its voice assistant, Tmall Genie.
Cited in CNBC, The Chairman and CEO of Alibaba Group and CEO of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, Daniel Zhang, responds to the launch of Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen, “We are at a technological watershed moment driven by generative AI and cloud computing, and businesses across all sectors have started to embrace intelligence transformation to stay ahead of the game,”
Following this latest announcement, Alibaba’s stake performs an enhancement of up to 3%. Alibaba also plans to unlock its Tongyi Qianwen for its clients, expecting to provide access to creating customized language large models.
The chatbot will be well-operated according to proprietary information and data from clients and reduce resources and costs for companies. Alibaba Cloud enterprise customers in China can access this AI model for beta testing.
Alibaba perceives the global interest in generative ai, which learns how to take actions from past data to create new content, has surged since OpenAI launched the ChatGPT chatbot, which Microsoft backs. This new trend has influenced many technology companies worldwide to compete in launching similar products.
As it is known, Alibaba has conducted research and development for its Tongyi Qianwen technology since 2019. Last March, during the company teleconference agenda, Zhang affirmed that cloud computing and AI are experiencing a critical period of its development, with disruptive breakthroughs around the AI generative fields.
He added, “Alibaba will put a strenuous effort to build its own AI pre-training immense model and provide arithmetic support for emerging models and applications in the market,”
By rolling out its new AI models, the CTO of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, Jingren Zhou, expects to facilitate business in entire industries with their intelligence transformation, eventually contributing to their business productivity while unlocking more exciting opportunities through innovations.
