Heaptalk, Jakartra – The popularity of Thai cuisine in Indonesia continues to rise, with the local community becoming increasingly familiar with traditional dishes. This trend is evidenced by the emergence of numerous Thai restaurants offering more specific menus. Seizing this golden opportunity, the prominent restaurant Thai Street, which has been operating in Indonesia for nine years, has launched The Summer House by Thai Street, a café-style restaurant serving authentic Thai dishes.

“The Summer House is inspired by villas typically used for vacations, where many areas in surround the villa also feature street food. With this concept, we aim to create a relaxed and comfortable holiday atmosphere,” said Stanley Ramon Marcellius, CEO of Koba Group, during the grand opening of The Summer House by Thai Street at Supermal Karawaci (03/14).

Offering 65 authentic Thai dishes, The Summer House presents some signature menu, one of which is Crispy Beef Crackers – rice crackers paired with a signature sweet and sour Thai sauce. Another highlight is the refreshing Grilled Beef Salad which combines spicy and sour flavors with savory meat.

Moreover, the restaurant presents popular Thai dishes and beverages well-known in Indonesia, such as mango sticky rice, tom yum soup, and Thai tea.

“For the mango sticky rice, we use mango imported directly from Thailand. Many of our ingredients are also imported from Thailand. However, we have adjusted the flavors to suit the Indonesian appetite,” Stanley added.

In terms of interior design, the restaurant showcases an oriental royal Thai summer house theme. The décor combines elements from Thailand, China, and Europe, creating a comfortable ambiance for customers.

In an effort to further promote Thai culinary innovation in Indonesia, the launch of The Summer House received full support from the Thailand Embassy in Indonesia. The Thailand Ambassador to Indonesia, Prapan Disyatat, attended the grand opening at Supermal Karawaci, Tangerang, to sample the new menu offerings.

“Thai Street has long been a partner of the Thai Embassy, and we are delighted to see its development,” stated Prapan Disyatat.

Additionally, regarding halal certification, William Johnson Tjan, Chief Operating Officer of Koba Group, noted that Thai Street received its halal certification in 2024, making it the first Thai restaurant to achieve this status.

“We obtained the halal certification in 2024,” William confirmed.

With the opening of The Summer House by Thai Street, the restaurant aims to enhance the dining experience for Thai food enthusiasts while promoting the rich flavors of Thai cuisine.
