Lintasarta launches GPU Merdeka AI cloud supported by NVIDIA

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s (IOH) business line, Lintasarta, launched GPU Merdeka, a sovereign AI Cloud from NVIDIA which is designed to be Indonesia’s most advanced supercomputing cloud.

Supporting Lintasarta in empowering AI adoption in Indonesia, the Coordinating Minister for Investment and Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, during the launch of GPU Merdeka, stated, “The presence of the cutting-edge technology is a great achievement for Indonesia seeing that all elements, starting from its infrastructure and its management, are in Indonesia. This aligns with our vision to empower Indonesian digital sovereignty, particularly in AI adoption” (08/21).

GPU Merdeka presents infrastructure and AI cloud platform for businesses with the most rapid GPU access from NVIDIA empowered with the existing data center-high-density. The innovation will provide access to GenerativeAI, machine learning, rendering, and CAD apps with superior specification, optimum cost, and efficient operation.

In more detail, GPU Merdeka features GPU with 8x Nvidia 100 SXM Tensore Core configuration in 1 server. This configuration can be applied in multiple apps which requires high accuracy, such as TNavigator and SLB Petrel High Performance Computing in oil and gas industry.

NVIDIA H100 SXM in GPU Merdeka can bear advanced AI generative with the bandwidth of 3.35 TB/s. This breakthrough also featuresthird-generation RT Cores which is ideal for rendering, 3D modeling, and CAD apps, such as AutoCAD.

President Director & CEO Lintasarta, Bayu Hanantasena, conveyed, “GPU Merdeka is our concrete measure to empower Indonesia through the most advanced technology to support companies from multiple sectors to expedite digital transformation optimally”. He continued, “I hoped GPU Merdeka can drive Indonesia to be the leader in AI cloud global”.

Aligning with Bayu’s statement, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH), Vikram Sinha, conveyed, “We are proud of the launching of GPU Merdeka by Lintasarta. As part of Indosat Group, Lintasarta plays an important role in our transformation journey to be AI-Native TechCo. We believe that this launch will bring Indosat Group to be closer to embodying our great vision, namely in empowering Indonesia and promoting the materialization of Indonesian Gold 2045”.
