Indosat bags revenue of USD3.27 billion in 2023, recorded double-digit EBITDA growth

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Global telco company Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (ISAT) reported a strong improvement by enhancing its revenue of 10% year on year (yoy) with a total earnings of Rp 51.2 trillion or around USD3.27 billion (USD1 equals 15,650).

This positive result was driven by several factors, including the enhancement of service quality and positive performance from the company’s entire business lines.
The President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Vikram Sinha conveyed that this achievement is supported by the contribution of all parties, notably consumers, business partners, shareholders, and also the company’s human capital. This strong growth also solidifies Indosat’s commitment to continue to drive the telecommunication ecosystem in Indonesia.

Vikram Sinha added, “Directly responding to the market dynamics, services innovation with technology as the core, and integrity to excellent operation are not solely become the keys to navigate our business growth, but also contributed to enlarge the added value for our stakeholders.”
During the press conference, which was conducted online (02/07), Vikram conveyed that cellular revenue rose by 8.7% yoy, which was driven by the revenue escalation from the data and interconnection. Meanwhile, with emerging revenue of IT services and fixed internet Multimedia, helping to leverage the Data Communication, and Internet (MIDI) revenue by 13% yoy.

This increase was followed by cost optimization, which contributed to 23% in EBITDA margin yoy or, namely Rp23.9 trillion or about USD1.52 million. With this achievement, the Normalized earnings for the current period attributable to owners of the parent entity reached Rp3.5 trillion and remained positive for 3 consecutive years. Moreover, throughout 202, Indosat’s Mobile Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) jumped by 5.3% to Rp.35.600. The growth of consumer bases is also promoted by the improvement of the Customer Satisfaction score (CSAT) IM3, which escalated by 4 points yoy to 84.1, while CSAT Tri also increased by 3 points to 84.0.

Throughout 2023, Indosat managed to attract 25.8 million consumers while 81% of them actively utilized internet services and promoted the data traffic growth of 16%. In 2023, Indosat in the Jakarta Bogor area reportedly had 44,000 BTS 4G to serve consumers around the area or increase by 11% yoy.
