Heaptalk, Jakarta – Indonesia’s freight forwarder, PT Hyper Mega Shipping (HMS), announced to be a part of International Air Transport Association (IATA) to enlarge its network, increase income, and solidify its position in logistic sectors.

Joining this international association, Business Development Manager of HMS Bima Swastika Aryasena, during the HMS Iftar Event in Jakarta (03/25), stated, “Conducting this measure, we are committed to delivering excellent services to our customers by providing the best air freight services with international standard. We hope to increase our profit by 20% this year through this step.”

According to Bima, as a member of IATA, HMS will obtain multiple benefits, including:

  • IATA is responsible for delivering cargo safely and on time. IATA members have complied with the guidelines in conducting business for their members.
  • Companies can start working with agents to help simplify other aspects of shipping, including customs clearance.
  • Obtain an integral code that enables the company to identify airlines, destinations, and traffic documentation.
  • Increase credibility and gain trust for having financial and professional expertise in the logistics sector.

For information, IATA was established in 1945 with 57 members. The number of its members grew significantly, and today, the international air transport association is claimed to represent around 300 airlines in more than 120 countries. IATA members include passenger and cargo airlines, which dominate 83% of global traffic.

According to HMS official release, currently only 54 professional supply chain companies in Indonesia are registered in IATA, and most of them are foreign companies who open their branches in the archipelago. Perceiving this fact, HMS solidify its position as the local freight forwarder who managed to be the member of IATA.

In addition to gaining a certificate of membership of IATA, HMS focuses on carrying out digital transformation to run effective and efficient business operations. This action is claimed to deliver positive impact on the company’s operation and brings benefit to the green economy. Bima conveyed that recently HMS has adopted E-DO (Electronic Delivery Order) platform for import process. Using this system, the company manage to reduce paper usages of 40%.

“We renewed our system and improved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) implementation, which was reviewed periodically. Today, we use E-DO for import process, and we will develop this platform for export process soon,” stated Bima.

Moreover, HMS employs enterprise resource planning (ERP), which integrates its business processes automatically.

“In the near future, we hope to improve our business by adopting ERP. Thus, we can integrate our system, including HR, Sales, Marketing, Operation, and Financial, which will improve our business flow,” concluded Bima.
