Trade Ministry amplifies strategic partnership to realize export-oriented SMEs

"This initiative aims to strengthen the SMEs, boost the national economy, and create an inclusive and sustainable business environment for domestic SME

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Trade Ministry, through Directorate General of National Export Development (PEN), signed two MoUs with several partners to encourage export-oriented devoted to SMEs and creative industry plyers in the animation, comic, and game (ACG) sectors, as well as licensing and merchandising, to enter the international market.

Held on Monday (05/20), several parties attended the signing ceremony, including DIrector General of PEN, Didi Sumedi, Chief of Corporate Affairs of PT Astra International Tbk, Riza Deliansyah, Chairman of the Indonesian Game Association (AGI), Cipto Adiguno, Chairman of the Indonesian Comic Association (AKSI), Sunny Go, Chairman of Cipta Karsa Adi Karya (CAKRA), Ivan Chen, Chairman of the Indonesian Animation Industry Association (AINAKI), Daryl Wilson, and Chairman of the Association of Licensing Merchandising Indonesia (ALMI), Handari Kunti.

“Through this MoU signing, I believe that our partners, namely PT Astra International Tbk, and the associations of animation, comics, and games (ACG), as well as licensing and merchandising, are showing their commitment to enhance the capacity of Indonesia’s SMEs to be part of the local and global market,” explained Didi.

In its implementation, the MoU will encompass multiple activities, such as disseminating export information to SMEs that are guided or members of each partners, strengthening the database, enhancing product competitiveness, improving market access, providing, business infrastructure, utilizing trade representatives abroad, and facilitating promotions.

The Directorate General of PEN and its partners will synergize and utilize resources capabilities to foster export-oriented SMEs.

“This initiative aims to strengthen the SME sector, boost the national economy, and create an inclusive and sustainable business environment for domestic SMEs, particularly through capability enhancement and promotion to enter the export market,” Didi said.

Also, he believes this cooperation will contribute significantly and create multiple positive effects for the Indonesian society. “This initiative will become one of the drivers for the growth and development of Indonesian SMEs and significantly contribute to national economic enhancement and creating multiple positive effects for the Indonesian community,” concluded Didi.
