Heaptalk, Jakarta — The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) gives an award to the East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman for the prevention and eradication of drug abuse and illicit traffic (P4GN). The Chairman of BNN Petrus R. Golose handed over the award certificate in the Tater Room, Masjaya Building, Mulawarman University, Samarinda (11/09).
The East Kutai Regent is one of three regional heads in East Kalimantan Province who received an award from the National Narcotics Agency. Given the award, Ardiansyah Sulaiman expressed his gratitude to the agency.
“This award is a great honor. Hopefully, the award from the National Narcotics Agency can spur the enthusiasm of all parties to handle and prevent narcotics in East Kutai,” said Ardiansyah.
The East Kutai Government is carrying out several efforts to prevent and eradicate the abuse and illicit traffic of narcotics in regency, one of which is through the BNNK office building program in collaboration with the BNNP East Kalimantan.
Ardiansyah said, “In the future, we will also prepare land for the rehabilitation of drug users. I am aware that East Kutai is one of the narcotics distribution areas. That is undeniable.”
The East Kutai Government, in collaboration with the National Narcotics Agency, the police, and other related parties, continues the efforts to anticipate and prevent the circulation of narcotics in the regency. According to Ardiansyah, the East Kutai Government has also built good synergies with the community, including by establishing a drug-free village that is called the Desa Bersih dari Narkoba or Desa Bersinar.
“This is a decent program as it involves the community in preventing and eradicating narcotics trafficking,” said Regent Ardiansyah.
Apart from the East Kutai Regent, BNN also gave awards to the Governor of East Kalimantan Isran Noor, the Chairman of the East Kalimantan Regional House of Representative Makmur HAPK, the Regent of Paser Fahmi Fadli, and the Acting Regent of North Penajam Paser M. Hamdan.
