Heaptalk, Jakarta — The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, attended the digital handover of the budget implementation checklist and the list of transfer allocation books to regions next year in Jakarta. (11/29)

During the agenda, he instructed the ministries, institutions, and regional government to tackle the state budget in a disciplined and targeted manner due to several turmoils spanning geopolitical issues, the impact of climate change, and the potential for recession are still happening.

“I urge that the state budget allocation provided would be implemented in a structured and thorough manner. Besides, I also look forward to other government entities will continue to prioritize transparency and accountability, particularly in avoiding state budget misuse.” Indonesia’s seventh President affirmed.

The leader of Indonesia also emphasized that regional governments are required to immediately carry out the realization of what has been prepared. According to him, the completion of the central government budget has only reached 74%, while the regional governments have only attained 64% this year.

Besides completing budget realization, Joko Widodo also asked the other entities to anticipate uncertainty through the automatic adjustment. Based on his perspective, the budget spent is people’s money, and the orientation must be focused on results.

In his further statement, he emphasized the importance of strengthening regional synergy and harmonization with central government policies to complete ongoing development more quickly. With the completion of several toll access roads in various provinces, he called the regional government contribution to connect the toll with industrial, tourist, agricultural, and plantation areas.

The President also mandated that his staff allocate regional transfer funds to improve public services, education, and health access. On the other hand, Jokowi is also encouraging other alternative financing innovations to preserve Indonesia’s investment climate stably.

“2024 is the last year of this period’s government. I suggested to overall government officials to continue optimizing budget allocations to accomplish development agendas that still need to be implemented and are still in the process of strengthening the coming government system.” Jokowi conveyed.
