Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait proposed the Three Million Houses Program, which was mandated directly by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to be one of the National Strategic Programs (PSN), perceiving its implementation which requires the synergy of multiple parties.
“We (The Ministry of PKP) will fight for national projects in the housing sector. We intend to implement the Three Million Houses Program for low-income communities in Indonesia. We hope we can obtain full support,” stated the PKP Minister at the 26th Anniversary of the Association of Housing and Settlement Developers Indonesia.
Minister Ara conveyed that the PKP Ministry will cooperate with several ministries under the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development (Kemenko IPK), especially the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR/BPN), to propose this initiative. The collaboration is expected to embody the program, considering the policy of land use, the primary factor of this program, is regulated by the Ministry of ATR/BPN.
“Ministries of Red White Cabinet and I have met President Prabowo Subianto to formulate steps to achieve the Three Millon Houses program. In the meeting, Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid agreed to propose the program as PSN, particularly for housing for low-income people,” conveyed Minister Ara.
The Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid conveyed his support for this initiative. Aligning with the Minister of PKP’s statement, Minister Nusron also viewed that the program needs great teamwork, not only from the Ministry of PKP but also from other stakeholders, such as government agencies and private sectors.
The Minister of ATR/BPN stated, “We have to find solutions to embody the Three Million Houses program. One of which is through PSN in housing sectors.”
