The East Kutai Government will differentiate the agrotourism concept of Teluk Pandan Village from Bumi Rapak Village which is currently in the development process.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The government of East Kutai Regency is currently preparing for the development of agrotourism as a tourist attraction which will contribute to local revenue (PAD). The Padaidi Farmers Group in Teluk Pandan Village, Teluk Pandan District, expressed their wish for their area to be developed as an agrotourism location.
According to the Head of the East Kutai Food Crops, Horticulture, and Livestock Department, Dyah Ratnaningrum, the East Kutai Regent approved the wish of the Padaidi Farmer Group. She said, “This is great. The plan of the Padaidi Farmers Group, which wants its area to also be developed as an agrotourism site, has received the approval of the Regent.”
Perceiving the detailed plan, the East Kutai Government will differentiate the agrotourism concept of Teluk Pandan Village from Bumi Rapak Village in Kaubun Districts which is currently in the development process. At Bumi Rapak, the community and PT Ganda Alam Makmur are involved.
“Later we will beautify it and I am sure many tourists will be interested in visiting. Its position on the axis road means that the people of East Kutai do not need to go all the way to Bontang for sightseeing as later there will be fishing spots as well,” Dyah voiced.
Further, Dyah said that his party would coordinate with multiple parties to create agrotourism destinations that utilize the agricultural or plantation as the main sector. One of the parties that will be involved is the Department of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), the executor of the construction of irrigation canals.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Padaidi Farmers Group, Syahrani hopes that the development of agrotourism can be carried out soon. To support the plan, he said his party has prepared a land area of 30 hectares including irrigation canals along 3 km. “Hopefully next year the development of agrotourism can be implemented,” concluded Syahrani.
