President Prabowo Subianto officially launched the Electronic Catalog Version 6.0 at the State Palace in Jakarta. Launching this updated e-catalog is part of the government’s efforts to promote clean governance through digitalization.
“I extend my gratitude to the working groups who have diligently operated under the coordination of the Chairman of the National Economic Council for successfully organizing the launch of Electronic Catalog Version 6.0. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and speed,” stated President Prabowo.
The President emphasized that starting January 1st, 2025, all ministries, government institutions, and regional governments must adopt the Electronic Catalog Version 6.0. According to him, this upgraded platform is expected to streamline the procurement process for government goods and services.
“The 6.0 version of this catalog is projected to reduce procurement costs by 20%-30% and administrative expenses by as much as 40-50%,” he added.
President Prabowo also pointed out that efficiency remains a key challenge for Indonesia compared to neighboring countries. This issue is reflected in Indonesia’s Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR), which stands at 6—significantly higher than neighboring nations whose ICOR averages around 4 or 5.
“This means we are perceived as less efficient compared to several of our neighboring economies, with inefficiencies estimated at around 30%,” President Prabowo remarked.
The President expressed hope that implementing Electronic Catalog Version 6.0 will significantly improve the efficiency of the government’s procurement system. He encouraged all stakeholders to support the government’s clean, transparent governance vision.
“Let us collectively realize a clean government through comprehensive efforts, including sound management practices, strong leadership at all levels, and advanced technology. Ultimately, we must also have the courage to uphold the rule of law,” President Prabowo concluded.
