Head of Tourism Marketing, East Kutai Tourism Department, Yunita Ronting received the award certificate from the representative of Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Tourism Department won the best booth title at the Gebyar Wisata Nusantara (GWN) Expo 2023 which took place for four days on June 8-11, 2023, at the Smesco Exhibition Hall, South Jakarta.
The second-best booth was won by the Sleman Regency contingent, DIY Province and the third position was occupied by Badung Regency, Bali Province. The award certificate was symbolically handed over by the Archipelago Marketing and Tourism Director, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) Dwi Marhen to the Head of Tourism Marketing Division Yunita Ronting representing the Head of the East Kutai Tourism Department Nurullah.
Yunita said, “Thank God this is the best achievement record for the East Kutai Tourism Department in participating in a national exhibition, specifically in the mission to promote tourism and East Kutai creative economic products.” She added that her party had worked hard to maximize contributions, especially to showcase tourism promotion and the East Kutai creative economy.
“East Kutai has very diverse tourist destinations, ranging from natural, cultural, maritime, culinary, to historical tourism. We also display various promotions through videos, photos, and creative economy products with explanations at the East Kutai Tourism Department booth. In the future, the Department will maximize existing activities and programs,” Yunita said.
Targeting 1.4 billion domestic tourist trips by 2023
Gebyar Wisata Nusantara Expo 2023 displays information on various tourist destinations in the country, including natural, maritime, artificial, culinary, special interest, religious, craft, hotels, restaurants, travel, etc.
In the event, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy participated in promoting five super-priority tourist destinations and the potential of tourist villages. Minister Sandiaga Uno said, “I want to invite all Indonesian citizens to travel to Indonesia.”
According to Sandiaga, this promotion is expected to contribute to achieving the target of 1.4 billion domestic tourist trips by 2023. In addition, the tourism sector is expected to contribute 4.1% to the gross domestic product (GDP).
