Heaptalk, Jakarta — East Kutai’s Regent, Ardiansyah Sulaiman, revealed that all villages in the region will have 24-hour electricity access by 2025.
“We will continue to cooperate with various parties, particularly PLN and private companies in East Kutai, to ensure that every village can enjoy 24-hour electricity by next year,” Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman said.
He stated that the electricity supply in all areas of East Kutai is essential for regional development and for improving the welfare of the people. For example, electricity is needed in coastal areas to power cooling machines and preserve fish yields. Ardiansyah also explained that 22 out of 139 villages in East Kutai still do not have access to 24-hour electricity from the PLN grid.
“We look forward to an adequate electricity supply, an increase in residents’ productivity, and easier access to information and technology,” he explained.
Meanwhile, PLN ULP Sangatta Manager Robertus Richard Laksana Lamania described their efforts to expand electricity access throughout the region. He also emphasized that the villages that already have electricity result from the synergy between PLN and the local government to improve the community’s well-being.
Robertus further stated that the ongoing electrification program is expected to significantly raise the standard of living in East Kutai. The government is optimistic that with 24-hour electricity, the villages in East Kutai will advance in various sectors, including education, healthcare, and the economy.
Regent Ardiansyah expressed confidence that with all parties’ hard work and collaboration, East Kutai will continue to progress and achieve equitable development.
“This is the first move toward a brighter and more prosperous regency. We will keep working hard to make this dream a reality,” he concluded.
