MSME bazaar was held in three points in East Kutai which was initiated by East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department collaborating with Genpro Indonesia.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman officially closed the MSME bazaar at the third point in the courtyard of the former STAIS Building, Apt. Pranoto Street, North Sangatta, East Kutai. This activity was initiated by the East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department in collaboration with a professional entrepreneur community, Genpro Indonesia.

In his remarks, Ardiansyah emphasized that the next MSME bazaar could be held more creatively and lively. Organizers can combine bazaars with cultural arts events. He said, “Wherever there is an appropriate location point to grow the people’s economy, partner with the arts and entertainment team to bring in more masses to shop.”

Ardiansyah also said that currently, the inflation rate in Indonesia is still relatively well-maintained. He ordered, “We should be grateful as according to the instructions of the Indonesian President Jokowi, all regions are required to develop a people’s economy, one of which is by holding this MSME bazaar. Therefore, let’s enliven MSMEs. If there is a good one, immediately curate which one is feasible to be sent to the global market.”

Further, Ardiansyah asked the East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department to be more attentive in marketing the East Kutai MSME products since this program is on right track to introduce MSMEs to the public.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the bazaar committee from Genpro Indonesia, Leon, conveyed his party’s readiness to make this activity a barometer of the people’s economy.

“MSMEs are growing, primarily in Ramadan. Activities at this third point were filled by 25 tents from ten regional apparatus organizations (OPD). There is good news, later the participants from these ten OPDs will be invited to take part in production curation training since we want to see the feasibility. Next July there will be an exhibition in Bali. For this reason, East Kutai products will be brought there to see opportunities for the national market,” said Leon.

Leon also reported that the MSME bazaar at this third point recorded a total transaction of Rp39 million or worth US$2,629 (US$1 equals Rp14,832). “Indeed, this (transaction) is a bit small and not optimal as a few days ago there was a storm that damaged the tent plus the rainy weather. However, we are not discouraged, there are still other activities on April 24, 2023. We will hold a bazaar around Sekerat Beach,” concluded Leon.
