Workshop on self-assessment of the integrated government internal control system aims to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of achieving the goals of government administration.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Regency Government in collaboration with the East Kalimantan Province Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Representative held a workshop on self-assessment of the integrated government internal control system (SPIP) and preparation of risk registers.

This activity was carried out for four days on June 12-15, 2023, at the Maratua Hall of East Kalimantan BPKP Representative, Samarinda. Participants came from 36 regional apparatuses which were divided into two workshop sessions, each for two days, namely on June 12-13 and June 14-15.

This workshop aims to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of achieving the goals of government administration, primarily in terms of the reliability of financial reports, safeguarding state assets, and compliance with laws and regulations.

In his opening remarks, the Regional Secretary of East Kutai, Rizali Hadi, said that every government agency is required to implement SPIP. The presence of BPKP becomes the driving force to provide direction and guidance in this matter.

Obtaining an unqualified opinion is certainly a spirit to encourage better performance for the Government of East Kutai Regency. “Regional government is like an orchestra, meaning everything has to be in tune. For this reason, good cooperation is needed to organize it,” said Rizali.

According to him, good communication must be established with the BPKP and the Regional Inspectorate as well as horizontal parties such as colleagues and related institutions. In addition, collaboration with related parties is also needed to make things run smoothly.

“If these things are implemented properly, the administration of regional government will run well and there will be no findings on the activities carried out,” said Rizali.

Meanwhile, the East Kalimantan Provincial BPKP Representative Head, Hasoloan Manalu, emphasized President Joko Widodo’s direction that the BPKP and all Government Internal Supervisory Apparatuses (APIP) should help achieve the government’s development goals.

“All levels of government internal supervisors must act and supervise before an error occurs. Thus, the cooperation between the government and government internal supervisors can run well,” concluded Hasoloan.
