Attending Smart City 2023, Dumai govt reveals the most prominent Smart City pillars in the city

Highlighting the smart environment pillar, Dumai City has improved water quality by processing peat water into clean water.

Heaptalk, Jakarta —  The National Smart City 2023 was held by Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) at the ICE BSD, Tangerang on Thursday (12/07). Attending this annual event, the Head of Diskominfo Dumai CIty Khairil Adli appreciated the organizing of this event. He perceived that the occassion becomes a forum for Indonesia’s regions to improve multiple aspects of the smart city, including the regional budget, human resources, and technological platforms.

“We appreciate Kominfo’s support, which has initiated the smart city movement. This agenda is a forum for assisting and developing districts/cities that need multiple improvements towards a smart city adoption, especially in the form of capital support. We need sufficient funds to achieve robust smart cities like Bandung, Surabaya, and Semarang.” Khairil said during the sidelines of this event. (12/07)

In his further statement, Dumai is one of Indonesia’s cities that has just grown and is 24 years old. In his achievement, Khairil appreciated the assistance of Kominfo for assisting the regional heads in formulating strategic steps toward a Smart City.

Through this strategic guidance, Dumai claims to have arranged six pillars, which are the basis for implementing Indonesia’s smart city development program. These pillars include Smart Governance, Smart Branding, Smart Economy, Smart Living, Smart Society, and Smart Environment, which has been performed up to 84%.

He delivered that the smart environment is the most prominent pillar of Smart City in Dumai. With its accomplishments, the city government of Dumai has improved water quality by processing peat water into clean water. Based on his statement, this pure water production will be distributed to 150 home connections (SR) in 2021. With the Ministry of Communication and Informatics guidance, house connections in Dumai have reached 5,000.
