Heaptalk, Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto officially appointed Basuki Hadimuljono as the Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (NCA) at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (11/05).
After the inauguration, Basuki revealed President Prabowo’s directive regarding the continuation of the development of the Nusantara Capital (IKN), which is expected to be completed in 4 years. “He asked that (IKN) be completed in 3-4 years,” said Basuki at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, Tuesday (11/05).
In response to this request, Basuki committed to completing the IKN project by 2028. As long as there is funding and a program in place, he will ensure the project is finished. He added, “As long as there is a program and budget, I will work on it. You know my work style.”
Currently, the development of the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN still has buildings under construction for the judiciary and legislative institutions. Meanwhile, the Presidential Palace is finished, and the ministry offices are under construction.
Basuki is targeting the completion of buildings for the judiciary, executive, and legislative institutions, as well as housing for civil servants by 2028. This would allow the DPR/MPR plenary session to be held in IKN in August 2028, as Prabowo desires. ”
For the KIPP ecosystem, the only buildings remaining are for the judiciary and legislature. Hence, the judiciary, executive, and legislative buildings must be ready, and the housing must be ready as well, by 2028,” said Basuki.
Although the new administration has officially taken office, Basuki continues to coordinate with former President Joko Widodo regarding the IKN project. Basuki added, “At the moment, no. But we are still coordinating about the programming.”
The technocrat from Gadjah Mada University mentioned that he had spoken with Jokowi two days ago. Basuki said Jokowi expressed a desire to visit Nusantara Capital. However, he could not confirm if the visit would take place soon. “We’ll see his schedule; he wants to visit more often,” he concluded.
