Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Floriculture Indonesia International (FLOII) Expo 2024, a prestigious horticultural event held from December 6 to 8, 2024, officially closed. Della Azkia Surur, the event’s Project Manager, proudly announced that the event successfully recorded auction transactions for ornamental plants totaling Rp137 million.
“The ornamental plant auction, conducted over December 7 and 8, 2024, has been a signature feature of the FLOII Expo since its inception. FLOII consistently captivates both domestic and international collectors and ornamental plant enthusiasts,” Della remarked.
She elaborated, “The auction enhances environmental beauty and serves as a platform to support and inspire communities and ornamental plant enthusiasts to innovate continuously.”
Among the standout auctions, the Aroid category achieved the highest bid, claimed by Bara Plant, fetching Rp27 million.
“On the final day, the Aglaonema and Aroid plants were auctioned, following the prior day’s auctions of Sansevieria, Platycerium, and Succulents. The Platycerium category, won by Localoco/Alvin, reached a notable peak of Rp24 million,” Della explained.
She further emphasized that every bid submitted by participants underscores a genuine commitment to fostering a love for nature and advancing Indonesia’s ornamental plant industry. “We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this auction a success,” she added.
The final day of the expo also featured an engaging lineup of activities. Highlights included an inspiring talk show titled “Planting for the Future” with Anjasmara and an in-depth discussion on Aglaonema as one of Indonesia’s premier ornamental plants, hosted by R. Agus Choliq and Mia Sutranina. Additionally, the day offered a Mossarium workshop by the Bali Botanical Gardens team.
Another crowd-puller was the ornamental plant contest, featuring 333 entries of Sansevieria, Platycerium, and Cacti from various regions. Contestants were evaluated not only on the aesthetic appeal of their plants but also on their historical and scientific significance.
The event concluded with the announcement of contest winners, door prize distributions, and the winners of the Plant Story Challenge, a digital competition encouraging attendees to share their ornamental plant narratives creatively.
