Zi.Care startup provides a digital medical record for patients and has served over 100 hospitals until the early quarter of 2023.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — A health-tech startup, Zi.Care has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the investor that will lead the Series A1 investment round worth US$3 million for this health-tech platform. According to the company, Oriza Greenwillow Technology Fund, a venture capital investment managed fund from Singapore focusing on startup investments in Southeast Asia, leads this investment round.
Through this strategic attempt, investors have determined to inject this startup worth US$2 million, exceeding half the total series A funding value. Furthermore, several regional venture capital firms are reportedly backing this funding round.
The management team of this startup revealed this platform exists as an application focusing on enhancing digital penetration in Indonesia‘s healthcare sector, aiming to advance service quality and the standard of health facilities devoted to society. In more detail, this startup provides HL7 medical record digitization services following Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) standards.
“Until the initial quarter of 2023, we have served over 100 hospital units. Further, we would continue to amplify our mission in digitizing a health care service in the archipelago,” added Zi.Care spokesperson in the official press release.
This health-tech platform will utilize the fund to broaden its services to digitize more healthcare facilities in Indonesia. Moreover, cited in Katadata, the Managing Partner of East Ventures, Wilson, Cuaca, claimed that global investment activities around health tech diminished last year. However, many startups in this particular subsector of the health industry have attracted investors, one of which is the microbiome subsector.
“Indonesia has over 3,300 hospitals, 10,000 clinics, and 270 million patients. Together with Greenwillow, we observed this record has a huge potential for the company in granting the country a better medical record service, specifically during the post-pandemic,” Zi.Care representative said.
For this reason, Zi.Care and Greenwillow affirmed to continue to support the government, particularly Indonesia‘s Ministry of Health, to build a robust synergy in advancing digitalization in the health sector through adequate medical record implementation.
