Heaptalk, Jakarta — Amidst Climate Change Conference (COP27) agenda, Indonesia’s delegations from East Kalimantan and East Kutai Governments paid a visit to Indonesian Embassy in Egypt (11/14). During their meeting, the contingents received a cordial welcome from the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, Lutfi Rauf.

East Kalimantan Government was represented directly by the Provincial Governor, Isran Noor, who came with his special staff in the field of environment, Stefy Hakim, followed by Niel Makinunddin, Wahyu Widhi Heranata, Lenny Syafarina, and Adi Iskandar. In addition, the local government staff, including Regional Secretary, General Administration Assistant, and Assistant Daily Executor for Region Development, also attended the meeting to assist the Governor.

In the level of structural position, the Head of the Regional Personnel Agency (BKD), Regional Head of the Environmental Department, Regional Head of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department, as well as Head of the General Bureau of the Regional Secretary Province attended the activities as the province’s representatives.

East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman, who also joined the contingents, visited the Indonesian Embassy in Egypt with the Region Secretary, the Head of the National Development Agency (Bappeda) for East Kutai, the Head of the Regional Finance and Assets Management Agency (BPKAD), and the Head of Regional Department of Information and Communication.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, Rauf greeted the delegation and expressed his gratitude to the guests for their visit to the Embassy amid the hectic agenda. Rauf, further, explained the latest condition of the education and trading sector in Kairo.

In response to Rauf’s speech regarding the education field in Kairo, Noor conveyed that the Province has strived to advance the education sector. The concrete action is embodied through Beasiswa Kaltim Tuntas (BKT) and Stimulan scholarship program.

Implementing this program, Noor explained the local government had allocated Rp350 billion or over USD22.5 million local government budget. The allocation even will increase to Rp450 billion or nearly USD29 million in 2023 (USD1 equals Rp15,548). Aligned with this program, East Kutai Government also coined a scholarship program for students studying in East Kutai or outside the area.

In his closing statement, Noor, further, expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, Lutfi Rauf, and his staff for the invitation and a very warm welcome.
