Heaptalk, Jakarta – PT Jobel Enerji Global, a West Papua-based company, announced has cooperated with Indonesian Market Operators Association (ASPARINDO) to enhance and simplify the supply chain and distribution system in the fishing industry.

The fishing industry is considered one of the primary sectors in Indonesia perceiving its contribution to sustaining the national food supply. As an archipelagic country, 1.83 million Indonesian traditional fishermen rely on the number of their catches to meet their necessities of life.

Traditional fisherman plays a key role in Indonesia’s fishing industry, yet, they stand on the most fragile plank in the fishing ecosystem. The deficient profit that is contributed by the complicated long supply chain and distribution system becomes the main factor of this issue.

In addition, the lack of facilities and infrastructures also worsens this condition, hindering traditional fishermen from living in prosperity, in particular for those who live on small islands in Eastern Indonesia.

With the intention to bridge this gap, PT Jobel Enerji Global collaborates with ASPARINDO to simplify the supply chain while boosting the distribution process in the fishery sector. This collaboration has been symbolized by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that took place at the ASPARINDO Secretary’s Office last Tuesday (06/09). The signing was represented by Yoel Rohrohmana, President Director of PT Jobel Enerji Global, and Y. Joko Setiyono, the chairman of ASPARINDO.

In response to this cooperation, the Company delivered that this measure will enhance the traditional fisherman’s welfare as their catch can be distributed directly through ASPARINDO’s strategic partner. This cooperation is known to engage traditional fishermen directly that incorporated with PT Jobel Enerji Global’s guided Joint Business Group scattered in Fakfak Regency and Tanimbar Islands Regency.

In addition to the MoU signing, several critical agendas, spanning the plan for enhancing fishing facilities and infrastructure for traditional fishermen, and training program to escalate fisherman capability in Fakfak Regency and Tanimbar Islands Regency have been discussed during the meeting.
