Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Iron-Steel Summit & Exhibition Indonesia (ISSEI) 2025 officially closed after three days of events from May 21-23 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) (05/23). Yudha Mediawan, Expert Staff for Technology, Industry, and Environment at the Ministry of Public Works, called on all stakeholders to prioritize high-quality steel in construction projects. “Infrastructure must not only be functional but also disaster-resilient and built to last for generations,” he said.
ISSEI 2025 served as a strategic platform for cross-sector collaboration between the government, industry, and academia to strengthen Indonesia’s construction ecosystem. “This collaboration is key to achieving more resilient, safe, and globally competitive infrastructure development,” he said. He further expressed hope that the event would continue to grow and become an annual forum to advance Indonesia’s steel industry toward world-class standards.
Yudha emphasized the Ministry of Public Works’ support for using high-quality steel as a primary material in national infrastructure projects. “National infrastructure development must prioritize effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability in facing global and domestic challenges. The use of superior steel is crucial to ensuring quality, durability, and long-term infrastructure resilience,” he said during his closing remarks at ISSEI 2025.
The ministry also acknowledged the progress of Indonesia’s steel industry, which can now produce internationally standardized hot-rolled steel, steel plates, and structural steel. These innovations support the independent and sustainable fulfillment of national strategic project needs.
