Heaptalk, Jakarta — Majes, a pet food brand under Singapore’s Meta Pet Tech, has officially entered the Indonesian market (04/29). The brand offers a premium line of pet food specifically formulated for tropical pets.
With the tagline ‘Science in every bite,’ Majes provides a selection of dry food, wet food, and supplements. The dry food range includes freeze-dried raw fusion and high-protein functional recipes available for kittens, adult cats, puppies, and adult dogs. The wet food options consist of immunity meat pack, nutri gravy, and creamy treats for cats and dogs. Meanwhile, the supplements include multivitamins, hairball remedy, 7-in-1 probiotics, immune boost gel, maxi omega, and hip & joint care.

Josef Wang, Founder and CEO of Majes, shared that in developing products targeted at young consumers, he adhered to three key principles: meeting needs without gimmicks, delivering uncompromising quality, and prioritizing aesthetics and innovation.
“Living in tropical countries, I witnessed the unique challenges pets face—hot and humid climates, limited awareness, and the lack of proper pet care products. It took me many steps to ensure they received the nutrition they needed to thrive. This realization deeply resonated with me,” Josef said during the Majes grand launch event at Pullman Jakarta Central Park, West Jakarta (04/29).

Meeting the Indonesian standard for pet food
At the same time, he observed that pet owners worldwide are becoming more informed and passionate, seeking healthy, scientific, and diverse diets for their beloved companions. However, Josef admitted that choices remain limited in many tropical countries. He added, “Inspired by love and a deep sense of responsibility, Majes was born in 2024—a brand rooted in dedication to pet care, especially in tropical regions.”

Nuryani Zainuddin, Director of Veterinary Public Health at Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed that Majes’ products have been registered with the ministry, the governing body overseeing pet food imports and exports. The Directorate of Veterinary Public Health ensures that all pet food products in circulation are safe, healthy, wholesome, and halal.
This requirement occurs as pet food, unlike poultry or livestock feed, is held to the same standards as human food. Therefore, the Directorate of Veterinary Public Health must issue veterinary control numbers and registration approvals for pet food based on Law No. 18/2009, Government Regulation No. 95/2012, and Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 15. “Pet food products entering Indonesia must come from countries and manufacturing units approved by the Minister of Agriculture. I confirm that Majes is a product from an approved country and company unit,” Nuryani concluded.
