Heaptalk, Tangerang — With athlete safety as a top priority, the newly launched Dreamers Basketball Club has officially partnered with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, the Indonesian social security agency, to ensure protection for its players against sports-related injuries.

The announcement came during the club’s official launch event held on Sunday at GOR Cipondoh Makmur, Tangerang. Coach Rully Handiwinata, better known as Coach Alex, emphasized the importance of this initiative in providing peace of mind for both athletes and their families.

“BPJS Ketenagakerjaan offers comprehensive coverage for our players. Should any injury occur during training or matches, the costs of medical treatment will be fully handled, removing the financial burden from athletes,” said Coach Alex.

In addition to this health partnership, Dreamers Basketball Club has also established a collaboration with the Tangerang City Government, particularly the Department of Youth and Sports (Dispora). The goal is to provide a clear development pathway for young athletes to participate in major regional events such as Popda (Regional Student Sports Week) and Porprov (Provincial Sports Week).

“This cooperation enables us to channel our best talents to compete at the regional and provincial levels,” added Coach Alex.

Jejen Jaenudin, Head of Sports Division at Dispora, welcomed the establishment of Dreamers with enthusiasm. He believes the club will positively influence the sports scene in Tangerang and potentially strengthen the city’s position in future competitions.

“Athletes who perform well at Popda or Porprov will be eligible for scholarships that could support their education all the way to university,” Jejen said. He expressed confidence that Dreamers, with its athlete development program for children aged 6 to 18, will contribute significantly to maintaining Tangerang’s champion status in upcoming sporting events.

Dika, representing the South Tangerang Branch of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, also praised the partnership. “This initiative allows players to focus entirely on their training, knowing that they’re covered in case of injury. There’s no treatment cost limit under this scheme,” he explained.

Dreamers Basketball Club was founded by Coach Alex earlier this year and already boasts 30 student-athletes. Though new, the club is backed by experienced, certified coaches, including Coach Alex (PB Perbasi License B), Coach Rezky (Indra Rezky Kencana Dewa, License B), assistant coaches Aditya Okta Fauzan ST and Bayu Purnomo, and business development lead Alexander Boyke Sigar, BI.

Training sessions take place every Saturday at 6:00 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM at GOR Cipondoh Makmur. Coach Alex also extended an invitation to the community: “Those interested can sign up directly at the venue. We offer one free trial session for newcomers.”
