This strategic alliance aims to create a seamless and integrated travel experience for tourists while positioning Sarinah as a leading shopping and cultural destination accessible via public transportation. Fetty Kwartati, President Director of PT Sarinah, emphasized the significance of this initiative during her address.
“This collaboration underscores Sarinah’s commitment to delivering a more comfortable and seamless tourist experience. We recognize that a memorable travel experience depends not solely on the destination but also on the ease of access and supporting services. Moving forward, Sarinah will establish the ‘Rumah Turis’ (Tourist House), an epicenter of activity for visitors to Jakarta, featuring a dedicated space for Indonesian souvenirs and cultural activations. Through this partnership, we aim to craft a more integrated travel experience, particularly for hotel guests, and solidify Sarinah and Rumah Turis as preferred shopping and cultural destinations accessible via public transport,” Fetty elaborated.
Farchad Mahfud, Director of Business Development at PT MRT Jakarta, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of integrating public transportation with Sarinah’s retail offerings to elevate Jakarta’s status as a global city.
“This integration is expected to boost public transportation usage while opening new avenues for business collaborations with Sarinah, particularly in providing urban lifestyle services for Jakarta’s residents,” Farchad stated.
Adding to the discourse, Justinus Kezia, Vice President of Commercial at Cititrans, outlined the company’s role as the operator of a shuttle service connecting five-star hotels with Sarinah.
“This service is designed to facilitate tourists staying at partner hotels in experiencing the diverse facilities and uniquely Indonesian offerings at Sarinah. Cititrans firmly believes that comfortable and efficient transportation is a critical component in enhancing tourism and business experiences,” Justinus remarked.
This multifaceted collaboration marks a significant step forward in Jakarta’s tourism strategy. It leverages synergies between retail, transportation, and hospitality to create a cohesive and enriching experience for visitors. As Sarinah continues to innovate and expand its offerings, the initiative is poised to strengthen Jakarta’s position as a dynamic and accessible global city.
