Heaptalk, Jakarta — In response to the 3 kg LPG shortage in the community, the Jakarta Provincial Government intervened by holding a market inspection.
“I hope there is no need to hoard too much LPG and daily necessities. We will address this issue, possibly with market operations,” said Hari Nugroho, Head of the Jakarta Department of Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy (Disnakertransgi), in a written press release in Jakarta on Tuesday (02/04).
During the market inspection, Hari also mentioned that his department is working to handle the shortage of 3 kg LPG. He said, “Disnakertransgi will ask agents or bases to monitor stock availability by reporting the condition of the bases in the morning and evening. We also request agents to immediately send 3 kg gas to areas where base stock is available.”
Jakarta Department of Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy will continue coordinating with relevant parties such as Pertamina and the Jakarta Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM). “To stabilize again, there is no need for panic buying; it is just normal purchases, and stock is still available. We need to ensure that the distribution chain does not face any obstacles,” Hari added.
In 2025, Jakarta received 207,555 metric tons of 3 kg LPG quota. This quota is 15% lower than the proposal from the Jakarta Provincial Government, which was 433,934 metric tons. “For 2025, Disnakertransgi proposed a quota of more than the previous distribution, around 433,933 metric tons, or 4% larger than the realization from 2024 to avoid shortages,” he concluded.
